The pilots of the nine red and white planes are fast jet pilots. They return to their Royal Air Force duties after three years as Red Arrow pilots.
The Red Arrows display is one of great skill. When in formation the space between each plane is perfectly measured and is an extraordinary sight.

The Arrows use coloured smoke…red, white, blue…. in their displays which leaves twirls and loops of bright colour in the sky

The beautiful and exciting display is greatly appreciated by Torbay residents and visitors and is met with cheering, whistling and clapping as they fade from sight. The sound of the plane engines can still be heard in the distance.

Red Arrows… Torquay, Devon…..flying over the town this year.

Red Arrows…display in August…update..

The Red arrows will be flying over Torquay on the 27th August this year. They had originally planned to leave us out, but thankfully changed their minds.
The amazing aerial display of the Red Arrows is enjoyed by thousands of locals and visitors every year. Torquay must be stunning from above so I’m sure the pilots enjoy too flying over our beautiful countryside and sparkling harbour.
.
There are air displays in Dawlish and Dartmouth too.

Photos from last years display….quite beautiful.

Red Arrows…Torquay, Devon

Yesterday the Red Arrows visited the bay. Before they hurtled in to town a display by a wing walker entertained the crowds.
The Red Arrows, as always, were stunning…looping in the pale grey sky…. red, white and blue smoke pouring in their wake as they sped above. The roars of their engines added to the excitement they generated.
The sky was moody and grey, but in no way detracted from the display. In fact the opposite. In an artistic way the cold steel sky softened by soft peach clouds added drama to the whole event.
